GAME UNFINISHED PLEASE READ

This game is still in an unfinished state.  Below is the description of our original game idea. In it's current state, we've completed the movement for the player, and have made the enemies. The game still lacks an attack for the player and currently there is no objective. We still welcome feedback on the current stage of the game. 


Description

Save your love from the ignorant townspeople! If she dies, her blood will be on your hands and not in a fun way. Find her in the church and get her out without attracting too much attention or getting either of you killed. Good luck!

This is a stealth game, but, although your hands are a little full, you can still bite people, and this can heal you! Just don’t let anyone see you do it!

This will be a top-down video game with the camera mostly focused on the player. The main goal is retrieval and escape. I’m unsure if it will be a randomized game (it seems hard) or a game with one level that’s always the same or a series of levels, but the gameplay will involve sneaking through a church to the place where your lover is held, picking her up, and getting tf out of there. You can lose by being killed by an enemy, by taking too long and letting your gf get killed, or by biting someone in front of someone else and activating some sort of alarm or something that attracts the attention of a bunch of enemies. This may be escapable before you pick up the girl, but once your hands are full there isn’t much you can do.

The game will have a start menu and a pause menu, and each will be accessible in different ways from the main game state. The pause menu will also include ways to navigate to the start menu and to options, and the start menu will also give access to the options. There will actually be two separate “In-Game” states: one for when you are alone, and one for when you’re carrying your lover. The latter state will be accessible by pressing interact near the altar where they are keeping her (this is only possible while in the empty-hands state). Both of these states will have access to the normal pause menu, and both states will also have access to movement and interact. Interact kills enemies within a very short range in both states and movement will be handled by wasd. The failures listed above will move you to the lose state, and escaping the church through the exit will move you to the win state.

The game is looking a lot better! I like the use of rectangles to form the buildings, gives a minimalist look that works nicely at the moment.... A couple of things to note; the enemy only sees you when you are directly up down left or right of it, and loses track as soon as you are diagonal... I suspect this is because nothing is considered if it is close on x and y coordinates. Also, when the game is won, nothing pauses so you can still lose even after winning... also, if you touch the enemy, the enemy goes onto you preventing you from moving, so you can't escape. 

Not entirely sure what is going on... clearer direction on what the goal is, if it is there, would be really nice. The floating boxes block movement, but will float through the player instead of pushing them. Also, the color of the word "Lover" in the game over screen makes it seem like the only thing that makes you lose is your lover? Also, you are able to go infinitely in any direction, a bounding box of some kind to indicate where the playing area is would likely help a lot as well.

so the goal will be if we can get it done on time is to Save your love from the ignorant townspeople who took her to the church, the white box placeholder for the priest witch I'm working on replacing now the it sprite the game over screen appears wnes your health hits zero. but thanks for your feed back Banamanners
